The Agricola and Salbac group of companies constantly invests in the development of their factories, which also leads to constant evolution.
We were asked to design an industrial installation required for cooling an AXFLOW pasteurizer, which processes a volume of 2m3 of eggs per hour. To select the appropriate equipment, the required refrigeration capacity was calculated based on the egg inlet temperatures, the volume circulated through the heat exchanger, and the temperature requested by the client at the output of the production line.
For this application, we used a DAIKIN chiller with a capacity of 49 kW. Since this involves the food industry, we could not use mono ethylene glycol in the pasteurizer cooling system to eliminate the risk of contamination. In this situation, we installed an ALFA LAVAL heat exchanger to transfer thermal energy between the mono ethylene glycol and the water used for cooling the pasteurizer.

The cooled water passes through a storage/buffer tank from ELBI with a capacity of 2000 liters, from which the pasteurizer is then supplied. For recirculation, we used a system of flow-controlled pumps with frequency converters from CALPEDA. The entire circuit is monitored by pressure and temperature sensors.
The operational tests performed showed an exceptionally designed and executed installation with high energy efficiency, as we have accustomed Splendid Service clients over all these years.
