Project description
One of the most important achievements of Splendid Service is the supply of a line of professional refrigerated display cases to the famous Casa Capșa pastry shop, located on Calea Victoriei, Bucharest — a place of Bucharest bohemian life, with tradition and cultural history, founded in 1852 and becoming a national glory by the year 1900. Casa Capșa was the meeting place of personalities from politics, journalism, art and culture. History was literally written here, alliances and governments were dissolved, dozens of crowned heads of Europe savored French-style pastries and pistachio ice cream. It survived World War I, World War II, went through nationalization, communism and the 1989 revolution. The pastry shop continues to be just as popular in 2022, almost as it was in the beginning, deeply charged with history, but with the same reputation, and the chocolate is just as delicious.
Project description
From its very beginnings, Casa Capșa introduced a new and very important element to the Romanian market, namely the importance of presentation. Sweets and fine desserts were always presented in special packaging — confectionery boxes, patterned cards, and wooden boxes produced specifically in Hamburg or Vienna. In special cases, the famous Capșa sweets were wrapped in lace paper, silver or gold foil, and decorative ribbons. Following the Capșa family tradition, today's owners continue to place great emphasis on the quality of sweets and the importance of their presentation. Thus, this year, the location was completely renovated, preserving the retro elements of the former pastry shop, while bringing considerable improvements in technology, design and materials used.
Among the new elements brought to the pastry shop are the Jamajka Retro horizontal pastry refrigerated display cases and the Aruba 2 ice cream refrigerated display, manufactured by Igloo Poland — one of the most important factories of professional equipment for pastry shops, gelaterias, food stores and supermarkets in Europe today. The entire IGLOO refrigerated display case range is distributed exclusively in Romania by Splendid Service.
Igloo offers its customers a diverse palette of colors and textures for the exterior panels of pastry refrigerated display cases, so that for this project, the ideal model was one with wood panels with a Retro finish, which integrates perfectly into the precious design of the pastry shop.
The advantages of the pastry display cases chosen by the professionals at Casa Capșa are: - Exterior panels made of veneered wood with Retro elements; - The interior frame elements in aluminum with a golden hue, and the way the shelves are attached to the interior structure; - The humidity control system, which helps maintain a suitable environment for storing pastries, regardless of composition, without changes in texture or color; - The interior LED lighting system, present on each shelf, and the way it enhances the pastries and special chocolate confections; - The method of opening the front glass panel for proper sanitation; - The shelf positioning and how it provides excellent visibility of the pastries on all shelves; - The quality and thickness of the glass, which together with the thermally insulated panels maintains the ideal temperature inside.
